Nickiah “Kiah” Metcalf, a beacon of light and joy, passed away in a car accident on Saturday, February 15th, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering spirit. Born on December 3, 2001, Nickiah was a vibrant 23-year-old whose life, though tragically cut short, touched many hearts. A lifelong resident of Cartersville, Georgia, Nickiah’s infectious smile and radiant personality illuminated every room she entered.
Nickiah’s educational journey began at Excel Christian Academy, where she graduated in 2020. She then attended Woodland High School. Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to excel, she pursued a Bachelor of General Studies at Kansas Christian College, graduating in 2024.
A gifted athlete, Nickiah’s passion for basketball shone brightly on the court. Standing at 5’3″, she played guard for the Kansas Christian College Falcons, occasionally showcasing her versatility as a small forward. Her dedication, teamwork, and competitive spirit earned her the respect and admiration of teammates and coaches alike.
Beyond her academic and athletic achievements, Nickiah was a woman of deep faith. Philippines 4:13, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength,” was a guiding principle in her life, reflecting her unwavering belief in the power of resilience and perseverance.
Nickiah’s vibrant spirit and warm heart touched countless lives. Her mother, Nicole Metcalf, a realtor at Nicole Metcalf-Keller Williams Realty Northwest, poignantly expressed, “To know Nickiah was to love her—her spirit and smile lights up any room!” Her father, Dewayne Metcalf, is a partner at EMT Lending. Friend Mikalle Lowry remembered her as being “always so full of life,” while teammate and friend Beth Ann Cole remarked, “To know Kiah was to see Jesus & love. She loved life & always smiling”. Best friend Melissah Henderson cherished their bond, stating, “I love you Nickiah Metcalf our energy was unmatched ❤️ I’m forever thankful for the years we spent together” These tributes capture the essence of Nickiah’s character—a young woman who radiated positivity, kindness, and genuine love for others.
Nickiah is survived by her loving parents, Nicole and Dewayne Metcalf, and a host of family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. While her physical presence may be gone, the light of her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Nickiah’s legacy serves as a reminder to embrace life to the fullest, to spread joy and kindness, and to live each day with unwavering faith.
